Sauvignon Blanc 2015 Description ...
The fruit for the La Forge Estate Sauvignon Blanc are sourced from 30 year old vines, with the vineyard located east of Carcassonne in the Languedoc Wine Region. Harvested at night the fruit is quickly de-Stemmed, pressed and fermented over 5 days. 5% of the wine is then fermented and aged in French oak casks for the 3 months, while the remaining wine is placed in stainless steel. The wine is then blended and bottled.
Fairley's Wines Tasting Note ...
The Paul Mas La forge White appears very bright with green tints, followed by a spectrum of tropical fruits, locked in with asparagus and herbaceous aromas on the nose. The palate opens with expressive gooseberry, melon and zesty citrus, a touch of smoke and minerality, finishing fresh with hints of grass and juicy grapefruit. Please do not over chill and would be best consumed young, 1-2 years. Serve with seafood, grilled fish and on its own.
