Tasting Note from Fairley's Wines | 2014
The Las Cruces Red dominated by Malbec appears almost black with lashings of red and black fruit intensity, textured dark chocolate locked in with mint and spicy oak on the nose. The palate is full and leads with persistent blackberry fruit, integrated dried plum with gentle oak flavours, liquorice and mint, disciplined with seductive dark chocolate, finishing soft and long with savoury oak and even more black fruit. An excellent red that will cellar well 10-15 years, allow to-breathe and would be best served with game, particularly venison and meat driven dishes.
