Located in McLaren Vale, South Australia, the d’Arenberg Winery was founded in 1912 by present owner Chester Osborn, great grandfather Joseph. Together with Chester’s father d’Arry, they produce wine using traditional methods and employ minimal input viticulture methods, with all the estate and leased vineyards organic and Biodynamic certified. The winery is the only one in Australia to basket press both red and whites, making the production labour intensive. Their methods also include the use of 5 tonne headed-down open fermenters, with all the batches remaining separate until the aging and resting is complete, prior to bottling.
