The Old Bushmills Distillery - Ireland’s Oldest Whiskey Distillery - 1608
The Old Bushmills Whiskey Distillery is in the northwest of Ireland, in the village of Bushmills, County Antrim, nestled on the bank of the River Bush. The license to distil was granted in 1608 by King James I, with ‘The Old Bushmills Distillery’ officially registered in 1784, with the Pot Still as the registered trade mark. To this day, the Distillery draws its water from Saint Columb’s Rill, a tributary of the River Bush.
