Description for the Penedes Single Vineyard Pinot Noir ...
The Pinot Noir is sourced from Torres single vineyard of Mas Borras, located in coolest part of DO Penedes, in the sub-region of Santa Maria de Miralles. The vines were planted on slopes, 520 meters above sea level, hand harvested and fermented over a 2 week period, prior to aging in new and old French oak barrels for 9 months.
Tasting Note from Fairley's Wines | 2012 ...
The Upper Penedes Pinot Noir appears deep cherry with lashings of tart red fruits, mocha and hints of smoked vanilla oak on the nose. The palate is velvety soft with dark cheery and raspberry, mingled with coffee and toasted oak, finishing elegant and supple with lasting dried fruits and finesse. Extremely good but should be allowed to breathe. Best served with cooked hams, creamy cheeses and roast meats.
