Sauvignon Blanc 2013 Description ...
The Jordan Winery was founded in Stellenbosch in 1982 by Ted and Sheelagh Jordan. Present day owners, Gary and Kathy Jordan came on board in 1992 with the introduction of a new cellar, producing their first vintage in 1993. The vines for the Jordan Sauvignon are aged between 11 and 30 years old, selected from east and south facing vineyards, ranging in altitude from 220m to 380m above sea level. The parcels of fruit were selected at different stages of ripeness from early to middle February, adding fruit complexity to the wine.
Fairley's Wines Tasting Note ...
The Jordan Sauvignon Blanc appears intense green yellow with complex green fruit, mingled with red pepper, very aromatic, with herbaceous blackcurrant on the nose. The palate displays layers of tropical fruit, from melon to kiwi accompanied with lively citrus, most notably grapefruit, finishing clean and dry with weight and body, undertones of green fig, freshly cut grass and minerality. Consume young 2-3 years and would be best served with salty fish, oysters and poultry.
