Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 Description ...
Winemakers Gary & Kathy Jordan with Sjaak Nelson have produced the Jordan Estate Cabernet Sauvignon from vines aged between 15-20 years old, located on West and North Facing slopes between 200-240m above sea level. The cool breezes of the Stellenbosch kloof, allow the grapes time to ripen perfectly, harvested mid-March the grapes are gently pressed and fermented, finally racked in new and used French Oak Barrels for 18 months, lightly filtered prior to bottling.
Fairley's Wines Tasting Note ...
The resulting Jordan Estate Cabernet Sauvignon appears almost black with purple tinges. The nose is an expression of cedar, brambles and toasted tobacco with black fruit. The palate overwhelms with ripe rich blackberry and cassis, savoury oak, velvety soft finishing persistent with brambles and toasted oak. An excellent wine that will get better and better with age, allow to breathe 1-2 hours and would be best served with roast beef or a leg of lamb.
