Chenin Blanc 2013 Description ...
The Jordan estate winery is located at the upper end of the Stellenbosch Kloof. The vineyards are all planted in altitude providing panoramic views of the Stellenbosch mountains and False bay, with the fruit for the Chenin sourced from vineyards, cool south and east facing, aged between 25 and 31 years old and 220m above sea level. After gentle pressing 50% of the free run juice was barrel fermented in 228Litre second and third fill burgundy barrels, with the remaining juice tank fermented.
Fairley's Wines Tasting Note ...
The Jordan Chenin appears pale lemon with aromas of sweet scented French oak, interwoven with fetching tropical fruit, citrus cream and complex spice on the nose. The palate is fresh with melon, lemon zest, full with dominant seasoned oak and spice, finishing balanced with honey and ripe citrus, deliciously mouth-filling. Best served with shellfish and mild curries, do not over chill and consume young 2-3 years.
