Syrah 2012 Description ...

South Africa's Coastal Region is divided into seven districts, which include Swartland, Darling, Tygerberg, Cape Point, Paarl, Tulbagh and Stellenbosch. The Atlantic Ocean is to the west, with the Boland mountains to the east and the Hottentot Hollands mountain range to the south. As a result the region differs some-what in climate, with districts closer to the ocean, experiencing a more maritime climate, while those further inland and closer to the mountain ranges, experience a more Mediterranean climate.

Fairley's Wines Tasting Note ...

The Bradgate Syrah displays a deep ruby colour with a spectrum of red fruit character, warm spice and scented flower on the nose. The palate is rich with a concentration of ripe plum, locked in with expressive black fruit, velvety soft with bay leaf and black pepper, finishing round and smoky with succulent oak and spice. An excellent dry red that would be best served with black mushroom risotto, venison or roast beef dishes. Allow to-open in the glass and consume now or 3-5 years.
