Description for the Bradgate Chenin Blanc 2014 ...
The Stellenbosch Kloof has a cooler Mediterranean climate with Maritime influences, the region experiences cooling breezes from False Bay, to the south and from the west coast's Benguela current, to the North-West. The vines for the Chenin Blanc are planted on south and east facing slopes, aged between 11-23 years and the cooler climate allows the white skinned grape to fully ripen. The grapes are harvested at the start and finish of February, tank fermented with extended contact on the Lees adding richness to the blend.
Tasting Note from Fairley's Wines ...
The resulting Jordan GJK Bradgate Chenin Blanc appears pale golden with an abundance of tropical fruit aromas, mixed with spicy dried fruit on the nose. The palate is full with ripe melon and pear, crisp and dry, finishing elegant with red pepper and a complement of green fig. Perfect as an aperitif or with creamy pasta dishes, consume within 2-4 years and do not over chill.
