Sauvignon Blanc 2015 Description ...
The fruit for the Astrolabe Province Sauvignon Blanc were sourced from 8 different family owned vineyards, located within 5 different areas of the Marlborough wine region. Three key sub-regions were choosen, Awatere Valley, Wairau Valley and Kekerengu Coast. Mainly because of the different soils and differing climates, with the fruit machine harvested between late March and early April, fermented in stainless steal and allowed to rest on the Lees for a period of time, before bottling.
Fairley’s Wines Tasting Note ...
The Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc appears pale straw with greenish tints, opening with lemon grass, ripe lime and full passionfruit, with underlying red pepper and white currant. The palate is loaded with peach, passionfruit and lime, locked in with capsicum and some minerality, finishing clean and lively with lasting stone fruit and even more red pepper. Please do not over chill and allow to open in the glass, best served with seafood, salads and aromatic herbs.
