DDescription for the 2017 Nero ...
The fruit was harvested from north-south facing vines, 550 meters above sea level in Camporeale, Palermo province. The individual grapes were vinified separately and with the Pinot Nero aged in French oak barrels for the 9 months and the Nero d’Avola in stainless steel, prior to blending and bottling.
Tasting Note from Fairley's Wines | 2017 ...
The blend appears bright ruby red with an abundance of dried dark berry fruits, married with toasted oak and fennel on the nose. The palate is overwhelming with dark cherry, blackberry jam, hints of cinnamon and background juicy plum, finishing full and soft with even more wild berry and spice. An excellent red that will age well and should be allowed to open. Best served with game, roasted meats and truffles.
