Description for the Cannonau ...
The fruit was harvested from two different vineyards, Is Crabilis and Acquasassa, within the DOC Cannonau, some 150-180m above sea-level, with an average vine age of 35 years. The grapes are gently pressed and allowed to macerate for 6/7 days, prior to fermentation and aging in cement and stainless steel vats.
Tasting Note from Fairley's Wines | 2017 ...
The Sardinian red appears intense ruby red with lashings of dried red fruits, spice and hints of liquorice on the nose. The palate opens with succulent cherry fruits, mingled with ripe plum, peppered spice and lingering liquorice, full and round with firm tannins, finishing long and strong with even more rich plum and spice. Needs to open in the glass, even decant and would be best served with BBQ meats and savoury servings.
