Bigi Wine

The Bigi winery Cellar was originally located in a Franciscan Monastery, Orvieto called 'La Trinita' but relocated to a modern facility in Ponte Giulio in the 1970's. The fruit is sourced from south facing vineyards in the neighbourhood of Orvieto, some 200 to 400 meters in altitude. The fermentation and ageing is solely carried out in stainless steel. Established in 1880 by Luigi Bigi, the Bigi winery is located in the heart of Italy's Umbria wine region, on the hills of the Orvieto Classico zone, locality of Torricella. The vines were planted south west facing some 300 to 350 meters in altitude with fermentation and ageing taking place in stainless steel over an 5 month period.
