2013 SuperTuscan Description ...
The fruit for the Supertuscan was sourced from estate vineyards, located on the southern slopes of Montalcino, some 170 to 230 meters above sea level, nestled between Orcia and Ombrone Rivers. The region itself has the Tyrrhenian sea to the west and the Apennine Mountains progressing inland along the border with Emilia-Romagna.
Fairley's Wines Tasting Note ...
The Blend appears deep red in colour with lashings of red fruit, vanilla, tobacco and coffee on the nose. The palate is powerful and full, with sweet cherry fruit followed by dried prunes and savoury oak, finishing balanced and soft with kernel and cherry jam. The wine should be allowed to breathe 1-2 hours and has enormous aging potential 5-10 years. Best served grilled meats and medium strength cheese.
