Description for the Sauvignon de Touraine ...
Domaine Joel Delaunay is a 5th generation winery, with present owner Thierry Delaunay taking over from father Joel in 2004. The winery is found between villages of Chambord and Chenonceaux, in the heart of the Val de Loire. The Estate covers 21 hectares of vine and produced its first bottles of wine in 1970. Some 40 years later the Domaine is going from strength to strength.
Tasting Note from Fairley's Wines | 2016 ...
The Thierry Delaunay Sauvignon Blanc, Touraine appears pale lemon in colour with flinty floral aromas, combined with abundance of exotic fruits and lemongrass. The palate opens with a mass of grapefruit, peach and blackcurrant, underlying passionfruit and balanced acidity, finishing fresh and clean with lasting smokiness and rich lingering fruits. Do not overchill and allow to open in the glass. Best served with fresh fish or as an aperitif.
