Review for the 2013 Corralillo Blend ...
The Winemaker’s Blend is a red, composed from three grape varieties, Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Malbec, sourced from the slopes of El Rosario, San Antonio. The fruit is hand harvested from older vines, on varied hillsides, at different altitudes, all within the family owned Rosario Vineyard. The resulting wine is aged in different sized French oak barrels, from various coopers and different toast levels, adding complexity and elegance to the finished wine.
Tasting Note from Fairley's Wines ...
The resulting Blend appears intense red with seductive red fruit aromas, interwoven spiced cocoa and hints of vanilla on the nose. The palate explodes with blackberry spice, dark cherry and ripe raspberry, smoked vanilla with violet and hints of dark chocolate, finishing full and soft with integrated oak and lasting spiced fruit. An excellent full bodied red that should be allowed to breathe 1-2 hours and has great aging potential. Best served with red meat BBQ’s, pasta and spiced foods.
