Review for the 2013 Corralillo Pinot Noir ...
The fruit for the Corralillo Pinot Noir were sourced from two different Matetic owned vineyards, mostly from the El Rosario vineyard and 15% from the Valle Hermoso vineyard, located in cooler climate of the Casablanca Valley. The parcels of fruit were harvested by hand, transferred to the winery and cold soaked, before fermented using different yeast and finally racked in French oak barrels for 11 months.
Tasting Note from Fairley's Wines ...
The finished Pinot Noir appears bright ruby red with lashings of dried red fruit, locked in with warm spice. The palate opens with juicy red cherry, followed by hints of violet, blueberry and savoury raspberry, finishing soft with lasting warmth and even more spice. Lively and still young, the Pinot should be allowed to open in the glass. Best served with meat pasta dishes, duck and grilled fish.
