Review for the 2015 Corralillo Gewurztraminer ...
The parcels of fruit for the Gewurztraminer were sourced from the coolest part of the Rosario Vineyard in the northern zone of Fundo Rosario, San Antonio Valley. The fruit was harvested late March from vines within the biodynamic and organic vineyard and separated into two lots, with bunches de-stemmed and cold soaked and the other whole bunch pressed, with fermentation carried out in stainless steel and barrels over a 30-day period.
Fairley's Wines Tasting Note ...
The Gewurztraminer appears crystal clear with yellow tints, floral with subtle rose petal and nuances of tropical and exotic fruits in abundance on the nose. The palate is full of lychee and grapefruit, followed by ginger and floral undertones, finishing lively and fresh with even more creamy fruit and very intense. An excellent Gewurztraminer that could be lightly chilled and would be best served with seasoned dishes, Asian food and some desserts.
