Matetic Vineyards - Family Wine | Rosario Valley

The Matetic Vineyards are in the Aconcagua wine region, Rosario Valley, a sub zone of the San Antonio valley, situated some 75 miles from Santiago. The Family have currently four Vineyards, two within the Casablanca Valley and two in the San Antonio valley. The story began in 1999, with Jorge Matetic planting Syrah in the completely enclosed cool climate Rosario Valley. The vineyards are deemed organic and biodynamic, covering 150 hectares of land, with the closest vines only 5 miles from the Pacific Ocean and with all the grapes handpicked.

The fruit for the EQ Coastal Sauvignon Blanc were harvested by hand in late March and sourced from the Valle Hermoso Vineyard, northern Rosario valley, in the Casablanca Valley. The Rosario Valley straddles both San Antonio and the Casablanca valleys and in this case the vineyard is located only 5 miles from the Pacific Ocean and the influences of the Humboldt current, making the Casablanca valley one of the coolest wine producing regions in Chile.
