Tahbilk Winery

Tahbilk Winery - Purbrick Family Owned | Established 1860
Tahbilk Winery was formed in 1860 and is currently owned by fifth-generation Purbrick Family. Located in the Nagambie Lakes region of central Victoria, some 75 miles north of Melbourne, the winery is one of the oldest in Australia and forms part of the Australia’s First Families of Wine. The boutique estate is controlled today by Alister Purbrick, who has taken the Carbon Neutral route, when in 2012 he achieved his goal. The name speaks of the region itself and means ‘place of many wateringholes’, with the Nagambie Lakes Region being one of six regions in the world, where the unique meso-climate is influenced by the numerous Lakes and Lagoons, all driven by the Goulburn River.
