Sauza Tequila - La Perseverancia

Casa Sauza was established in 1873, by founder Don Cenobio Sauza, when he acquired La Antigua Cruz and renames it "La Perseverancia". The Distillery is located in Tequila, Jalisco – Mexico. All the Tequila's produced at Casa Sauza are distilled in copper pot stills and produced using the Blue Agave, associated with the area. The distillery produces many different types, including Sauza Signature Blue Tequila and the entry level Sauza Silver.

The Sauza Gold Tequila is entry level tequila produced using 51% Blue Agave, at Casa Sauza, which is located around the town of Tequila, Jalisco State – Mexico. The gold tequila is produced by adding caramel colouring just before fermentation and distillation and generally during extraction. The Sauza tequila range was first introduced to the world in 1946, by Don Eladio Sauza, who took control in 1903 from father and founder Don Cenobio Sauza.

Sauza Silver Tequila is produced from 51% Agave Tequilana Weber, which is the Blue Agave, found in the Mexican states of Jalisco and Nayarit, a state standard introduced in 1997. Only the heart (Pina) of the Agave is harvested by the Jimador and used in the production. The Blue Agave goes through a further 3 stages - Cooking, Extraction and Fermentation, before double distillation occurs in copper pot stills.
