1985 Vintage Port Description ...
The fruit for the Warre's 1985 Vintage Port was sourced from several vineyards, including Quinta do Retiro Antigo, an integral part of Warre's & Co since 1935. The Quinta is located in the Rio Torto Valley, the Douro Valley's, Cima Corgo sub-region. 73% of the vineyard is planted on narrow 19th century terraces, with over 50% of the vines 50 years old or more and to this day are still harvested by hand in single variety blocks, allowing each variety to be picked and vinified separately.

"WARRE has been making exceptionally fine Ports of late and their 1985 is the sweetest and richest of their recent Vintages. Extremely concentrated, rich, even luscious, this full bodied, intense, opulent wine has layers of fruit, a full blown bouquet and impeccable balance."
